You must update the firmware in the base unit and the sat antenna.

If you are updating the sat antenna firmware remotely you need to use SOTA.
Before and after updating check to see what firmware is present using the Messenger.
  - Message > New to Mobile Message
  - SIN 016, MIN 004 (getServiceInfo)
  - sin = 231
  - Send
  
The latest passthru firmware version is 2.2.1

If you are updating the sat antenna firmware locally via rs232 do a Service List at the 
shell to see the installed version.
